Hello
and welcome to Swift Selections! My name is Claire Spence and I am excited to
share my music loving passion with you. I am so, so happy you are here. I grew up listening to Taylor Swift blaring from my boombox and singing her songs from the top of my lungs. My initial interest in her music blossomed from the curiosity and passion I felt during those jam sessions. What makes her music so
different from when she first started releasing songs and albums? Throughout my
middle school and high school years, I felt that her music was "growing
up" just as I was. I will aim to piece together why she wrote in such a way.
Here,
I will dig deeper into the growing maturity of Taylor Swift and the changing
writing style her albums have shown throughout her career. Along the way, I upgraded from boombox and Walkman jam sessions to my car radio. I may or may not be the bass you can hear while sitting at the stoplight. You will find that
while reading various posts, you will be overwhelmed by the conclusions made
from her music and you will form your own opinions right alongside me. I strive
to bring entertainment to you all as the readers by analyzing Taylor Swift’s
art pieces and putting them in conversation with researched findings, and personal touches of course. I bring
you posts that focus on the broad effect of lyrics and instruments on the
listener and the changing writing styles and instrumental choice of Taylor
Swift’s albums. Giving the readers/listeners a reason for these changes
ultimately determines if she is trying to keep up with the most popular styles
from a rating perspective.
My
goal is to bring a whole new understanding to Taylor Swift’s new and old hits.
With a relaxing atmosphere, I will look at the specifics of each Taylor Swift
song and transform them into a flirty and fascinating adventure. I hope that
you will be able to connect to each post in your own way.
If
you enjoy catchy music and an exciting lifestyle, come join me on this journey.
